Florida 2-15 Insurance Pre-License Course - New 60-hour Requirement

Effective October 1st, 2015, anyone seeking a Florida 2-15 Insurance License must complete 60 hours of pre-licensing training. The Florida Department of Financial Services has increased the hour requirement of Florida's 2-15 Pre-License Course from 40 to 60 hours.

What's changed? This 60-hour pre-license course is the new qualification for students to take the 2-15 Health & Life (Including Annuities & Variable Contracts) Pre-License state exam. The 60-hour course will still cover Federal and State Regulations, Legal Concepts of the Insurance Contract, Life and Health Insurance, Annuities, Health and Accident Insurance, and Disability and Medical Reimbursement.

Our 2-15 Course

Our state-approved Florida 2-15 Health & Life (Including Annuities & Variable Contracts) Pre-License Course has been designed with the Florida 2-15 Health & Life (Including Annuities & Variable Contracts) Study Manual in mind. Each module ends with a self-test, though students are not required to pass the quiz to continue to the next module. However, there is a final exam that students must receive a 70% or higher on to pass the course. The student may take this exam an unlimited number of times!

Security questions are used to validate the student's identity. Upon successful completion of the course, the student will receive a certificate of completion. The student does not need to send this certificate to the Department of Financial Services. An electronic copy of the certificate will be automatically sent to the Department of Financial Services on the student’s behalf.

Do NOT enroll in a 40-hour course!

If you enroll and take a 40-hour course, you will not be allowed to take the state exam or obtain your 2-15 Health & Life (Including Annuities & Variable Contracts) Agent License. However, the 2-15 License still allows you to sell Fixed and Variable Annuities and all forms of life, Health and Accident insurance policies representing insurers in Florida.
